Atlanta, Georgia

My sister & I went on a road trip in April of 2003. We drove to Atlanta where we spent a couple days with my friend Toph from college. One of the important spots we visited was the site of the Martin Luther King Jr. memorial. I guess this picture is a little morbid, but it is an impactful place.

Duke University

Our original intention was just to visit Atlanta, but I started thinking about how close (8 hrs) we were to Washington D.C. So I talked Phalassa into driving up there. On the way, we stopped at Duke University. It's a very cool campus - many buildings looking like castles. This is the chapel. We stopped here for an hour or two and then moved along.

The Capitol

We arrived in DC and spent about 24 hrs. there (staying 1 night in a hotel) and then drove 24 hrs. straight from D.C. to Dallas. That was a long drive. To the left is the Hope Diamond at the Smithsonian. Below are the Supreme Court, the Vietnam Memorial, and the White House.
